Think you know who is going to win American Idol? The oddsmakers think they do too. The folks from Paddy Power released odds this past week on who will win American Idol Season 7. Coupled with Gambling911.com's own expertise, we will produce the ultimate list.
David Archuleta - The young polite refreshing youth has more than cute looks that will make all the girls swoon. He's got an incredibly powerful voice that does not appear to be coming from this youth. He was a favorite from Day One, even before the first odds were released. Archuleta also received plenty of "on air" exposure heading into the Final 24. With a payout potential of $5 for every $2 bet, he's definitely someone we would put our money down on at one of the online gambling sites offering odds. Since Paddy Power is one of the few, he's our first choice. Savvy American Idol gamblers know to place bets on a few of the "most likely" winners at various online gambling websites (most of these will be offering American Idol betting odds as we get closer to the Final 12). There is an ironic kicker with Paddy Power. They do not accept American Idol bets from Americans.
Michael Johns - Another Idol with the "whole package". With a payout potential of $11 for every $4 bet, you gotta love Michael Johns chances - and your own payout odds. Unfortunately for the native Australian, the folks "down under" can't vote, but they can watch. He'll get enough support from the States though. Johns "got it" according to sharp-tongued judge, Simon Cowell.
Asia'h Epperson - It amazes us that this sultry performer - another one with the full package - is only listed with 10-1 odds at Paddy Power. That's a payout of $1000 for every $100 bet should she happen to win...and she's probably the most likely of the female contestants at this juncture in time. "Certainly looks the part of an Idol, and if she can improve her diction, she's a threat to go all the way," writes Michael Slezak of Entertainment Weekly
Carly Smithson - There has been a lot of hype about Carly Smithson coming into the Top 24 competition. She's the female from Ireland who previously enjoyed a record contract, that ultimately failed. Supposedly, the record company folded but her debut only sold a few hundred records. Still, she's a force - even if Simon didn't like her last week. The other judges claimed it was the best vocal yet. Not surprisingly, Carly's odds have shorted to 8-1 in her native Ireland after being listed in double digits.
Ramiele Malubay - She doesn't quite have the stage presence or the "it" factor of those above yet, but neither did last year's Idol winner, Jordin Sparks, this early in the game. What Ramiele does have is a powerful voice in a tiny little body and that will take her far into the competition. How far remains to be seen. She's listed as the favorite among the girls at Paddy with 5-1 odds.
Jason Castro - Slezak asks the million dollar question: "How do you go from invisible contestant with no pre-semifinal airtime to the week's buzz-worthiest hopeful? By taking the stage with your guitar and delivering a sweet, understated take on the Lovin' Spoonful hit ''Daydream,'' then showcasing a delightfully hippie vibe in your post-performance interview." He's listed with 8-1 odds at Paddy Power.
David Hernandez - He's not the best but he proved last week he can sing at least. Hernandez opened the show with a near flawless performance - though it was hardly something that had us on the edge of our seats. The important thing to realize here is he's listed with 50-1 odds for the potential to pay out $5000 on every $100 bet at Paddy Power. A dollar pays $50! This is the furthest the dollar might be able to go a few months from now...if only Paddy Power accepted US players.
Robbie Carrico - The jury is still out as to whether this is the new "Chris Daughtry". He's got the looks, the rocker ability and he once dated Britney Spears we've since learned. Last week's performance of "One" was memorable because we are still remembering it and couldn't get the song out of our heads. Wilst, he's a keeper.

American Idol on Wednesday night featured absolutely zero standout performances from the ladies. The good news is that both Brooke and Carly were at least refreshing.
Asia'h Epperson, who came into Wednesday night's show as a 15/2 favorite ended "All By Myself" brilliantly, but that hardly made up for what was in between. We later learned that Asia'h caught that nasty flu bug. The good news for her is she won't be going home this week. That ending sealed it for her and we know she's better than that.
Carly is pretty much tied as a favorite with Asia'h, listed with 7/1 odds, but again it wasn't something that really blew us out of the water like David Archuleta's performance last night. That little boy better watch there are no Tanya Harding wannabes looking to jeopardize the "main threat's" Idol chances. Nobody even came remotely close to Archuleta this week. And quite frankly there were probably four guys better than any of the girls Wednesday night.
Judge Simon Cowell was remarkably subdued under the circumstances.
There are quite a few of the girls who stand a chance of being voted off this week, so stay tuned.

All these interviews are so stilted! Miley Cyrus is now talking to Regis - why? Because Hannah Montana is a Disney show, and ABC is owned by Disney. Then again, the Hannah Montana concert movie was #1 at the box office a few weeks ago.
Guh, Brooke Burke refers to Juno as the "little indie that could" when talking to Jennifer Garner. How do the folks behind Little Miss Sunshine feel? After a serious Steve Carrell realizes he's actually presenting the Animated Feature Oscar with Anne Hathaway, not Best Documentary, the pair present the Best Animated Film Oscar to Brad Bird, for Ratatouille. Brad Bird mentions his guidance counselor's doubt that he could make movies helped prepare him for the movie business. A nervous Katherine Heigl - wearing red (it's the color of the night - Anne Hathaway was also in red) presents the Best Makeup Oscar to the La Vie on Rose team - Didier Lavergne, Jan Archibald; close-up of Marion Cotillard, who looks like she's about to cry.
Where are the big categories? Traditionally the Oscars throw the viewers a bone, by presenting Best Supporting Actor or Actress early. But Jon Stewart introduces the first Best Song performance - it's Amy Adams singing the Happy Working Song from Enchanted. She sounds great, but after the great scene from the movie, with all the rodents and creatures (see it here), it's a pretty spare treatment. Can it be that we yearn for some crazy Debbie Allen dance number?
Back from commercial break, Jon Stewart tells us that the Kodak Theater attendees spend commercial breaks snarking about what the viewing audience is wearing. Then it's Dwayne "Don't Call Me The Rock Anymore" Johnson presenting the Best Visual Effects Oscar to the Golden Compass crew - Michael L. Montage of best supporting actress awards, which leads to last year's supporting actor winner, Alan Arkin, stepping out to present the Best Supporting Actress Oscar. And the winner is...Tilda Swinton, for Michael Clayton! A mild upset, as Ruby Dee or Cate Blanchett had been expected to win. But Swinton - wow! She's stunned and says the Oscar looks exactly like her agent, who deserves the award. She also said Michael Clayton writer-director Tony Gilroy walks on water and mentioned George Clooney wearing the Batman suit on set ("You rock!"). She's awesome - if you haven't yet, see her in The Deep End or Orlando.
Jessica Alba, in a lovely third trimester gown, mentions the Scientific Academy Awards handed out a few weeks ago. Insert a joke about the pregnant actresses and Jack Nicholson's virility. Then Josh Brolin and James McAvoy, after riffing on previous famous movie lines, present Best Adapted Screenplay to Ethan Coen and Joel Coen's adaptation of No Country for Old Men by Cormac McCarthy. They previously won best original screenplay with Fargo.
Sid Ganis, the Academy president, tries to enlighten the average non-Hollywood Joe or Jane about the Oscar nominating and voting process with a montage (of course a montage) about the, uh, process, but not the Price Waterhouse Coopers part. The Academy's voting is super secret - as the Barbra Streisand-Katharine Hepburn tie in 1969 showed, votes can be close (Streisand reportedly only joined the Academy that year and probably voted for herself - had she not voted, she would have lost by one vote!).
Then the third song nominee - it's the second of three Enchanted songs. Kristen Chenoweth, Broadway star and actor on ABC's Pushing Daises, sing "How Do You Know?" with a cast of characters. She has a terrific voice and stage presence.

10:57PM Best move of the night: Jon Stewart has Marketa Irglova come out and give her speech because she didn't get to give one. And she gives a lovely speech about independent musicians and having hope. Then Cameron Diaz comes out, stumbling a bit, and presents the Best Cinematography award to Robert Elswit for There Will Be Blood. Elswit thanks the production designer, director Paul Thomas Anderson and Daniel Day-Lewis.
Hillary Swank comes out to introduce the In Memoriam montage of actors, noting that some actors made their marks over many decades while others were taken too soon, "with their best yet to come." Some of the names: Roscoe Lee Brone, Laszlo Kovacs, Michaelangelo Antonioni, Suzanne Pleshette, Deborah Kerr, Jack Valenti, Kitty Carlisle Hart. The biggest cheers seem to be for Ingmar Bergman, and the segment ends with a shot of Heath Ledger in Brokeback Mountain. Fade to black and commercial.
11:09PM: Amy Adams presents the Best Score Oscar - after a few examples of famous scores including Oscar orchestra leader Bill Conti's Rocky theme - to Dario Marianelli's score for Atonement. Tom Hanks comes out and introduces U.S. soldiers in Baghdad, who then announce the nominees for Best Short Documentary Film. Which is an interesting move, since many of the feature length documentary nominees are Iraq or Afghanistan war-related. The Best Documentary, Short Subject, winner is Freeheld, about NJ police officer Laurel Hester who was dying and wanted to give her partner her benefits

11:24PM Just a few more awards - Best Original Screenplay, Best Actor, Best Director and Best Picture. Let's bring this in before midnight! Harrison Ford comes out to present Best Original Screenplay - the winner is Diablo Cody, for Juno. She might be the Oscar winner to show off her sexy lady tattoo. She dedicates the award to the other nominees and thanks the production team, star Ellen Page, director Jason Reitman, and her family "for loving me exactly the way I am."
11:30PM Return from the commercial break directly into the Best Actor of Years Past montage. Dame Helen Mirren present the Best Actor Oscar to Daniel Day-Lewis for his role in There Will Be Blood. After kissing Mirren, he says, "That will be the closest I'll ever get to a knighthood." He gives a nice speech (thanks Paul Thomas Anderson, his co-stars, his wife) and pays tribute to his grandfather, father (former British poet laureate) and his sons. Guess George Clooney was right, when he called himself the "Hillary Clinton" in the Best Actor race, next to DDL's "Barack." So, was Johnny Depp John Edwards?
11:39PM Back from commercial to a clip of Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau's Best Director introduction from a past telecast - god, were they awesome actors. And wow, now there's a montage of the past 30+ years of Best Director winners, which reminds everyone that the winners are typically white men (okay, Ang Lee won two years ago). Martin Scorsese comes out to present Best Director (aka "Best Achievement in Directing") to Joel Coen and Ethan Coen, making this the first time a pair of directors has won. In fact, back when Fargo received a Best Director nomination, the Academy (and Directors Guild) only allowed one person, so Joel Coen got the nod.
Denzel Washington comes out to present the Best Picture winner.... And it's No Country for Old Men. Joel and Ethan Coen come out of the wings, waiting for mega-producer Scott Rudin to come to the stage. Rudin, previously nominated for The Hours, is thrilled and thanks Cormac McCarthy, who had quite a 2007 (Oprah picked his book The Road for her Book Club). And we're loving the cuts back to Frances McDormand (Joel's wife), who is cheering and happy.
The show ends at 11:48PM. It was definitely an Oscars ceremony that paid tribute to the smaller, independent (with some studio aid) film, with No Country for Old Men, There Will Be Blood, and Juno winning the major awards. It's great that the Academy is honoring well-made, interesting films, but the ceremony did feel a bit anti-climactic (save for wins for Tilda Swinton, Marion Cotillard and Once)sorce : www.gothamist.com

At 8:30PM (following a half-hour red carpet special), the 80th Annual Academy Awards ceremony will begin, finally putting an end to the "There Will Be Oscar" or "Oscar Country for Old Men" type headlines.
You can prep yourself with the Oscar nominees list as you watch (or avoid) red carpet coverage. You could read NY Times movie critic A.O. Scott's slightly curmudgeonly but totally valid essay on the Oscars: "I am nonetheless bothered by the disproportionate importance that the Academy Awards have taken on, and by the distorting influence they exercise over the way we make, market and see movies in this country." Compared to Showgirls and Battlefield Earth, two infamous, high-profile disasters, I Know Who Killed Me was a little film, quietly and quickly dying at the box office late last summer. Only Lohan's drug-related arrest three days before its opening briefly put the critically dismissed movie in the spotlight.
But there is no such thing as flying below the Razzies' radar. Some 750 voting members of the Golden Raspberry Award Foundation piled it on I Know Who Killed Me. Among the film's "honors" were: Worst Excuse for a Horror Movie, Worst Director, Worst Screenplay and, owing to the group's belief that the movie was a badly played riff on Hostel, Saw and, um, The Patty Duke Show, Worst Remake or Rip-Off.

The 26-year-old first-time mom has been showing off her slim but healthy physique, most recently a Grammys afterparty and at the opening of the Broad Contemporary Art Museum on Feb. 9, where the Simple Life star looked so svelte it's hard to believe she gave birth only weeks ago.

Rachel Bilson has admitted that she drank alcohol to get through sex scenes in her new movie Jumper.
The former OC star said that despite filming more revealing scenes in previous movies, she was still fraught with nerves before shooting romantic scenes with Hayden Christensen.

Grammys came during group split
Shortly after the announcement of five Grammy nominations at the 2001 awards show and the excitement of the unbelievable record sales, LeToya and LaTavia left the group amid management struggles. Legal problems ensued, but Destiny's Child became whole again with the arrival of Michelle Williams, and, for a short stint only, backup singer Farrah Franklin. At the Grammys, DC took home two awards, Best R&B Song and Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group, both for "Say My Name."
Now a trio, Destiny's Child's third album, Survivor, which debuted in the spring of '01, garnered a whole new set of hits, like "Bootylicious" and the title track. After all this success, the group's three talented sistas decided to try their hands at solo careers before investing their time in another Destiny's Child album. As for their hot weekend at the Borgata, the couple arrived Friday night, in time for a decadent dinner at the Bobby Flay Steakhouse, followed by a Matchbox 20 concert – at which the two spent much of the show with their arms around each other.

Lindsay Lohan, who was once linked to Heath Ledger and was spotted crying after his passing, is speaking out on the late actor’s death.
In the new issue of New York magazine, the actress, 21, poses nearly naked for a recreation of “The Last Sitting,” the last series of photos of Marilyn Monroe.
Lohan calls Monroe’s suicide “tragic,” adding, “you know, it’s also tragic what just recently happened to someone else.”
Asked if she’s referring to Ledger, Lohan replies, “They are both prime examples of what this industry can do to someone.”
Still, the star, who’s been in rehab three times, insists she will not end up like them.
“I’m not them … I sure as hell wouldn’t let it happen to me,” she tells the magazine.
Ledger died of a prescription drug overdose last month. He was in the middle of shooting his final film, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus.

But lawyer Eric Ervin, who worked with Spears as a teenager, tells Us Weekly in its new cover story that the "virgin" image Spears portrayed was, in his words, a "PR blitz." In fact, Us reports in its new issue that Spears lost her virginity at age 14 to boyfriend Reg Jones, and that Britney was “having sex with Justin from the moment they got together” but she had lost her virginity at age 14!
Something Spears also kept secret: Her family's tragic history.
Us has learned that Spears' paternal grandmother, Emma Jean Spears, in June 1966 committed suicide at age 31. Britney's grandmother, who suffered from depression, shot herself in the chest with a shotgun at the grave of her infant son who had died eight years earlier just three days after being born.
A local newspaper article obtained by Us reported at the time: "The shotgun had been pressed against the woman's chest and she apparently pulled the trigger with a toe of the right foot from which a shoe had been removed." The newspaper reported that Emma Jean had attempted suicide three times before.
Emma Jean Spears left behind four other children, including Britney's father, Jamie Spears, then an eighth grader. Two of Jamie Spears' brothers ended up with criminal records and homeless.

Jessica Alba has opened up for the first time since announcing she and fiance Cash Warren are expecting their first child."It’s quite a blessing and perfect timing," she tells Extra in an interview, airing Wednesday, of her pregnancy.

Sure Rihanna was well known before, but it was in 2007 that she became a huge star. She was defnitely the female musician of the year (I’m reffereing to her celebrity status; music-wise I much prefer Feist). Forget about the old track pants wearing Rihanna; 2007 introduced us to the always cleavage showing Rihanna that we all know and love now.

Now here’s somebody who’s hot and wants the world to know it, American Idol runner-up Katharine McPhee. She might have lost to whatshisface, but Katharine was the real winner. She was all over the place and a fan favorite, especially in the celebrity blog world. And showing off her killer legs and flirting with the camera every chance she got didn’t hurt her popularity either.

I think it’s safe to say that Hayden Panettiere has replaced the Paris Hiltons and the Britney Spears of the celebrity world as the new “It Girl”, and thank God for that. The legal battle between Kim Kardashian and Brandy’s mother is heating up. On Monday, Brandy’s mother (and manager) Sonja Norwood filed a suit, accusing Kim — who had worked as a stylist for the R&B singer in 2004 — of running $120,636 in credit card charges without permission.
(The suit also names Kim’s sibs, Khloe, Kourtney and Robert Jr, who also allegedly abused the singer’s American Express after Kim passed it on to them.)
On Tuesday, Kardashian’s rep released the following statement to Usmagazine.com:
“The charges against the Kardashians are meritless. Both Kim and Khloe were employed by the Norwoods and never used their credit cards without their express authorization.
“The Kardashian family looks forward to proving the absurdity of these claims in a court of law,” the statement concluded.

Rai was born in Mangalore to Krishnaraj and Vrinda Rai, in the South Indian state of Karnataka; her mother tongue is Tulu.
Rai attended the Arya Vidya Mandir at Santacruz, Mumbai, then entered Jai Hind College, Churchgate, Mumbai for one year and then moved to Ruparel College, Matunga, Mumbai to finish her HSC. She was an A student and was on track to become an architect. Her mother tongue is Tulu. She also speaks Hindi, English, Kannada, Marathi and Tamil.
In the 1994 Miss India Contest Rai placed second behind Sushmita Sen and went on to win the Miss World title.
As a professional model, Rai has appeared in many Indian fashion magazines, including the Indian Vogue; more recently she has featured in international ads for L'Oréal, De Beers Diamonds, and Coca-Cola.
The first film she acted in was the popular Tamil movie Iruvar in (1997), directed by Mani Ratnam. Rai's earliest films made money, but Rai herself did not impress critics -- they commented that her performances were stilted, as if she were still modeling.
Her breakthrough came with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. Later successes include Taal and Devdas. Rai has also acted in other Tamil films such as Jeans, Kandukondain Kandukondain, and in the Bengali film Chokher Bali.
Devdas, in which Aishwarya joined Bollywood superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Madhuri Dixit, was a huge hit, lavishly produced as it was. The film attracted overseas attention as well, receiving a special screening at the Cannes Film Festival.
Rai was becoming an international star rather than simply a Bollywood one. In 2003, Rai was a member of the jury at Cannes. In 2004, she was chosen by TIME Magazine's Asian Edition as one of Asia's "100 Most Influential People." Rai was the subject of a 60 Minutes profile on January 2, 2005 - "The Most Beautiful Woman in the World." A month later she appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman, and on April 25, 2005, she was featured on Oprah's "Women Across the Globe" segment. A wax figure of Rai is on display in London's Madame Tussaud's wax museum.
Although frequently the subject of gossip column speculation about an imminent Hollywood career, it was only in 2004 that Rai finally acted in a foreign film. British director Gurinder Chadha hired her to play the heroine in Bride and Prejudice, a Hollywood-funded but Bollywood-ized version of Jane Austen's classic novel, Pride and Prejudice. The movie did well at the box office and Aishwarya's Hollywood profile rose a notch.

Reports surfaced during the recent Sundance Film Festival that 'Spider Man' actress Kirsten Dunst was on the verge of suffering a breakdown, however, her reps have denied the story, saying she's doing "fine".According to the Page Six gossip column in the New York Post, friends of Dunst had said she's "not in a good place right now", following reports of her rumored "erratic" behavior at the annual movie fest.

Then I saw the photo above, and stopped worrying for them, and wonder how many people I have tapped on the shoulder thinking they were a woman, but were really a man, or if that woman with the big adam’s apple was really a woman, and if I go back to sleep can I forget about the whole crazy night.
